Last Friday was the first emergenCITY GradDay, where our PhD students and postdocs had the opportunity to learn about different career paths in academia and industry. The event was organized by the emergenCITY-Graduate School and offered a day full of enriching workshops, insightful exchanges and valuable networking opportunities with emergenCITY alumni.

The day started with two workshops led by Michael Cramer and Dr. Kathrin Reinke. Michael Cramer’s session explored the intricacies of successful interdisciplinary teamwork, while Dr. Kathrin Reinke’s group learned about different career paths for academics. After the lunch break, the participants gathered for a session with emergenCITY alumni, who gave insights into their career paths after their time with emergenCITY. The afternoon was characterized by open conversations and lively Q&A sessions.

The emergenCITY GradDay gave the PhD students and postdocs practical insights into career opportunities within and outside the university.
