Lecture series on secure critical infrastructures offers further exciting expert lectures in January and February
The interdisciplinary lecture series “Sichere Kritische Infrastrukturen” of the Departments of Computer Science and Social and Historical Sciences at TU Darmstadt deals with the challenges and solutions of secure critical infrastructures. Free registration is still possible for the events in January and February. The public can also take part online via Zoom.
On Wednesday, January 15, Frank Sill Torres, Director of the DLR Institute for the Protection of Maritime Infrastructures in Bremerhaven, will speak about the protection of maritime critical infrastructures. One week later, on January 22, Daniel Lorenz from the Disaster Research Unit at the Freie Universität Berlin will speak on the topic of “The population and its perception in crises”.
On January 29, Sigurd Schuster, telecommunications expert and management consultant, will shed light on how resilient Germany’s electricity and communications networks are. The series will conclude on February 5 with a talk on crisis communication. The speaker will be Sebastian T. Baum, specialist consultant for risk and crisis management.
The lecture is organized by Professors Matthias Hollick (Secure Mobile Networks - SEEMOO), Jens Ivo Engels (Modern and Contemporary History) and Christian Reuter (Science and Technology for Peace and Security - PEASEC).
Partners of the event are the LOEWE center emergenCITY, the Research Training Group KRITIS of the German Research Foundation DFG and the research area Secure Urban Infrastructures (SecUrban) of the National Research Center for Applied Cybersecurity (ATHENE).
