During the first emergenCITY week, emergenCITY presented the first emergenCITY Collaboration Award. An internal committee including Peter Pelz, Annette Rudolph-Cleff, Abdelhak Zoubir, and Heinz Köppl honoured three interdisciplinary publications by young emergenCITY researchers from the past year.
Out of eleven nominated papers, the first place went to the publication RESCUE: A Resilient and Secure Device-to-Device Communication Framework for Emergencies by Milan Stute, Florian Kohnhäuser, Lars Baumgärtner, Lars Almon, Matthias Hollick, Stefan Katzenbeisser, Bernd Freisleben.
Second rank went to the authors of the paper Empirical insights for designing Information and Communication Technology for International Disaster Response by Max Maass, Tom Schons, Marc-André Kaufhold, Christian Reuter, Milan Stute and Matthias Hollick.
In third position, the committee selected the publication Towards Secure Urban Infrastructures: Cyber Security Challenges to Information and Communication Technology in Smart Cities by Jasmin Haunschild, Max Mühlhäuser, Joachim Vogt, Michael Kreutzer, Matthias Hollick and Christian Reuter.
