From October 21 to 22, the German Federal Government is hosting the Digital Summit in Frankfurt am Main. At the dialog forum, the Federal Chancellor and Federal Ministers will exchange ideas with participants from politics, business, science and civil society under the theme “Digital Germany - Innovative. Sovereign. International”. emergenCITY will present itself at the so-called Market of Digital Opportunities.
Under the theme “Smart Living” in the focus area on digital crisis and disaster protection, emergenCITY will focus on the mission “Digital Heinerblock” on an exhibition area of around seven square meters. In this project, scientists are supporting the city of Darmstadt in the development of a traffic-calmed neighborhood. Sensor boxes are planned to measure fine dust and noise, among other things, and to enable wireless communication in the event of a disaster.
Another part of the Digital Heinerblock is the energy-autonomous advertising pillar “Litfaßsäule 4.0”. It warns residents even in the event of a prolonged power outage. The emergenCITY team will also provide an insight into the serious game “Krisopolis”, in which users can playfully prepare for an emergency.
In addition, emergenCITY scientific coordinator Matthias Hollick will give a presentation on “Digital resilience: building a national crisis resilience center” on 22 October. This will be followed by a panel discussion with politicians, representatives of authorities and scientific institutes.
