Its future president is elected in advance. Every year, the organization hosts international conferences on important research in the field of computational linguistics. As ACL president Iryna Gurevych will take care of strategic matters and the steering of the society. This includes leading the selection process for conference organization, managing events and community debates, and moderating important operational meetings of the ACL Executive Committee.
