Katharina Kleinschnitger, M.A.

Managing Director

Katharina Kleinschnitger is Managing Director of the LOEWE center emergenCITY. From 2016-2023 she was a research assistant at the research area “Comparative Analysis of Political Systems and Integration Research” under the direction of Prof. Dr. Michèle Knodt. She was Program Area Coordinator at emergenCITY, Network Manager of the COST Action ENTER funded by the Horizon 2020 Framework Programme of the EU and Managing Director of the Arbeitskreis Europäische Integration e. V. (AEI). In addition to her work and teaching at the Institute, she was project coordinator in the joint project “PaEGIE: Participatory Energy Transformation” funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action in cooperation with the Fraunhofer Institute for Computer Graphics Research IGD. Previously, she was managing editor and editor of the Politische Vierteljahresschrift (PVS), published by the board of the German Political Science Association (GPSA). She also worked as a Research Fellow in the project “Crisis, Conflict and Critical Diplomacy” (C3EU). She is a doctoral candidate at the Institute and researches the media perception of EU external relations in the context of the Eastern Partnership.
